The Love Languages of…Your Shower

The Love Languages…of Your Shower

Love languages aren’t just for relationships—they apply to your shower routine, too! Whether you’re a quick-rinse minimalist or a luxurious bath enthusiast, your shower says a lot about your self-care style. So, let’s break down the Love Languages of Your Shower and see where you fit in!

Words of Affirmation: Hyping Yourself Up in the Shower

If you’re the type to belt out power ballads, recite daily affirmations, or give yourself a pep talk while shampooing, this one’s for you! Maybe you’re channeling your inner Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter; we don’t judge, you sound just like them. Or perhaps you’re giving yourself a Rocky-style pep talk, your shower is your stage, and no one can tell you otherwise. We love it, we respect it, and keep being you.

Acts of Service: The ‘Let Me Do Everything in Here’ Shower

Do you multitask in the shower like a boss? Deep conditioning, exfoliating, shaving, and contemplating life’s biggest mysteries, and planning your day all in one go. First, let me say you are a true superhero. Second, it's understood that it's likely out of necessity. Your love language is acts of service— for yourself and those in your circle.

Receiving Gifts: The Shower Product Collector

Suppose your shower shelf looks like a high-end beauty store aisle, congratulations! You express love through receiving gifts—in the form of endless body washes, fancy scrubs, and expensive shampoos you saw on TikTok. If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I don’t neeeeed another shower gel, but this one has less bad stuff and is hydrating. So clearly, I need it.” Continue to treat yourself.

4. Quality Time: The Long, Hot Shower Enthusiast

If you view your shower as your sacred escape from reality, your love language is quality time. You’re in the shower way past the acceptable water usage limit, savoring every second of warmth and peace. You keep telling yourself, “It hasn’t been that long, the water is still hot.” Look, I’ve been there...it’s me. You’re not hiding from your family; you’re practicing self-care. Keep prioritizing the deep cleaning your body needs.

5. Physical Touch: The Exfoliation Expert

If your shower routine includes a deep, satisfying scrub, your love language is physical touch—but for your skin! You believe exfoliation is an art, the way you swirl your favorite body scrubber is not only efficient but scientific mastery. You ensure every spec of dirt and dead skin cells are removed with every scrub. Smooth, healthy skin=happiness. Enough said.

6. The Obbi: The Efficiency Meets Luxury Shower

But wait, aren’t there only five love languages…we think you will love our scrubbers so much a sixth has entered the equation. If you want the best clean with the most suds, less effort, and the least cash, then your shower love language is Obbi. You believe that a great shower should be simple, economical, and effective, giving you soft, refreshed skin without the hassle of several expensive exfoliators. But can I tell you a secret? Obbi is an add-on love language that goes hand in hand with the rest. No matter your shower love language, we believe our products are a great match for you.

At the end or beginning of the day, taking care of yourself is the ultimate form of self-love. Relationships are meant to last long, not your loofah.

Scrub-a-Dub-Done: The Skin-Saving Magic of Our Soap Dispensing Silicone Body Scrubbers

Hey there, Super-parents (and anyone else who feels like they’re running a zoo rather than a household)! Let’s talk about something we all deal with daily showers. No, not the 30-minute spa retreat showers we used to take before kids. I mean the speed showers where you try to wash, rinse, and maybe achieve world peace before someone yells, "Mom, he’s touching my stuff!"

Showers are your tiny slice of “me time,” and silicone body scrubbers are here to make those precious minutes even better. Because if you’re going to fight off the kid chaos, you might as well have glowing skin while doing it.

Why Your Skin Deserves a Little TLC

You work hard, whether it’s carting kids to sports or dance practice, meal prepping (aka finding 10 ways to disguise chicken nuggets), or playing referee during sibling squabbles. Your skin? It’s along for the wild ride, too—except it’s covered in dry patches, clogged pores, and let’s face it, mystery glitter.

That’s where exfoliation comes in. It’s like taking out the trash—but for your skin. Dead skin cells get the boot, leaving you with smoother, brighter skin that says, “I slept eight hours!” (even when you didn’t).

Why Silicone Scrubbers Are a Parent’s Best Friend

Here’s the deal: harsh scrubs are out, and silicone scrubbers are in. And for good reason—they’re the mom-friend of skincare tools: reliable, clean, and never judgy about how many times you reheated your coffee today. But just what exactly can Obbi’s body scrubbers do for you?

1. Gentle on Your Skin, Tough on Dead Cells

Silicone scrubbers won’t leave your skin looking like you lost a battle with sandpaper. Their soft, flexible bristles exfoliate without irritation, so you don’t have to explain why your legs look like they’ve been in a fight with a hedgehog.

Why was the scrubber so good at its job?

Because it bristled with enthusiasm!

2. Hygienic and Easy to Clean

Unlike that loofah you’ve been using since before your kids were born (yes, we see you), silicone scrubbers don’t trap bacteria. They’re non-porous, so a quick rinse and they’re good to go. Bonus: No more funky mildew smells invading your bathroom.

3. A Time Saver

Who has time for fancy spa routines? Our soap dispensing silicone scrubbers lather like a champ, meaning you’ll need less soap, less effort, and less time spent wondering if you remembered to rinse your left leg.

How Do Our Scrubbers Work? (Even If You Only Have 2 Minutes)

1. Fill the Obbi Scrubber with your favorite body wash

2. Hop in the shower (or tub if you are one of the lucky ones)

3. Scrub in gentle, circular motions—think calm energy, not “cleaning crayons off the walls” energy.

4. Rinse and conquer your day (or maybe just the laundry pile).

And here’s a parent-friendly tip: Silicone scrubbers are gentle enough for the whole family!

(Except for the dog. Don’t scrub the dog.)

Some Encouragement, Because You’re Crushing It

Look, we know life gets busy. Between snack requests, carpool schedules, and bedtime routines that involve just one more story, it’s easy to feel like self-care is a luxury you can’t afford. But taking five minutes for yourself—even in the shower—isn’t selfish; it’s survival. You’re doing your best for your family, and your skin deserves the same level of care you give to everyone else.

Remember: A clean, exfoliated parent is still a superhero parent—just one who glows while folding laundry.

One Last Laugh

Why did the parents bring their silicone scrubbers to the PTA meeting?

Because it exfoliated all the drama! (I promise, our scrubbers are better than our jokes)

Ready to give your skin a little extra love? Check out our soap-dispensing silicone scrubbers designed to make your shower routine smarter, cleaner, and way more fun. Because you deserve to feel as radiant as the human disco ball your toddler thinks you are. Keep scrubbing—you’ve got this! Because Every Scrub Counts.

The Scrub Down: Saving Money and Skin with Smarter Shower Choices

If you're anything like us at Obbi, you know that the shower is more than just a place to get clean—it's your daily escape, your spa moment, and sometimes the only peace and quiet you get all day. But have you ever stopped to wonder how much your shower routine might be costing you? Spoiler alert: it’s more than you think. Let’s talk about how switching up your routine could save your family money and maybe even improve your skin health along the way.

The True Cost of Body Wash

Body wash is one of those household essentials that quietly eats away at your budget. According to a recent report by Statista, the average American spends about $5.40 on body wash per bottle. Now, let’s do some math. If you’re a family of four, each person using about two bottles of body wash per month, that adds up to $43.20 a month—or a whopping $518.40 a year!

And let’s be honest, kids are not exactly known for their soap conservation skills. (Ever walk into the bathroom to find a puddle of body wash on the shower floor? Yeah, us too.) That’s money literally going down the drain.

Enter Obbi: The Silicone Scrubber That Saves

Here’s where Obbi’s 100% silicone shower brush comes in. Unlike traditional loofahs or washcloths that require you to pour on half a bottle of body wash just to get a decent lather, Obbi’s unique design helps you make the most of every drop. Thanks to its durable silicone material and soap dispensing technology, it creates a rich lather with minimal soap—meaning that same $5.40 bottle of body wash can last way longer.

Switching to Obbi could cut your family’s body wash usage in half, saving you upwards of $259 a year. Imagine what you could do with that extra cash! A family day out, a gym membership, or even just a little less stress when it comes to grocery shopping.

Healthier Skin, Happier You

Let’s talk about another hidden cost of traditional loofahs and washcloths: your skin’s health. Loofahs are notorious for trapping bacteria, mold, and mildew. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology found that loofahs can harbor harmful bacteria like Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus if not replaced regularly, yuck!

Silicone scrubbers like Obbi, on the other hand, are naturally resistant to bacterial growth. They’re easy to clean and don’t hold onto moisture, making them a much more hygienic choice for your skin. Plus, the gentle exfoliation from silicone bristles can help improve circulation and leave your skin feeling softer and smoother without irritation. Talk about a win-win!

Benefits Beyond the Bathroom

Here’s the thing: saving on body wash isn’t just about money. It’s about sustainability and reducing waste. By using less soap, your family helps cut down on the environmental impact of plastic packaging and harsh chemicals that can end up in our waterways.

And if you’re trying to set an example for your kids about being mindful of resources, this is a small but impactful step in the right direction. Imagine teaching your little ones that saving a few bucks here and there can add up to bigger savings—and a healthier planet.

Ready to Scrub Smarter?

Switching to Obbi isn’t just a change in your shower routine; it’s an upgrade for your wallet, your skin, and the environment. So why not make the leap? Your family’s skin will thank you, your budget will breathe a sigh of relief, and you’ll finally be able to enjoy that spa-like shower moment without worrying about what it’s costing you. Because Every Scrub Counts.

Producing our silicone shower scrubbers in the United States isn’t just a smart move: it’s a squeaky clean one. From high-quality materials to planet-friendly practices, we’re all about putting the “care” in personal care.

Impacting the Planet, One Shower at a Time

Producing locally can cut down on carbon emissions, which means fewer fumes and fresher air for all our families. We like to think of it as giving our planet and local economies a well-deserved rinse. Focusing our production within the United States helps us lessen environmental impact by reducing shipping distance and packaging waste, while also working with local partners that generally adhere to stricter environmental standards. Sustainability isn’t just about doing less harm; it’s about scrubbing the planet cleaner and working to leave it more sparkling for future generations.

Transparency You Can Trust

We believe families shouldn’t have to wonder where their personal care products are sourced from and what materials are being used. With Obbi, everything is crystal clear—no soap scum here! From eco-friendly silicone to ethical practices, we’re committed to delivering products that are as clean as the lather they create and the resulting skin they leave behind.

Safer Standards, Cleaner Conscience

The United States has some of the world’s highest safety and environmental standards, and we’re happy to meet them head-on. With Obbi, you can shower with peace of mind knowing your brush was made responsibly, without cutting corners—or popping bubbles.

Supporting Local Communities

For us, producing in the U.S. isn’t just about creating high quality personal care products; it’s about creating jobs. When you buy our soap dispensing body scrubbers, you’re helping us support American workers and keep local economies showered in success. Talk about good vibes all around!

With long-lasting durable, eco-friendly silicone, Obbi is here to help your family reduce waste while keeping things soap-er fresh. Worry less about bacterial growth on your washcloth and loofah. We’re here to help your family save soap, hopefully improve your skin care, save time, and make a positive impact on our planet—all while having a little fun in the process. By producing in the U.S., we deliver on our promise to make high-quality products with a hands-on approach, ensuring that every Obbi soap dispensing scrubber is worthy of a happy dance (or at least a shower singalong).

So go ahead—make the switch to Obbi. Because when you choose us, you’re choosing family, community, and a better clean. In the words of Obbi, “together we’ll scrub away troubles and polish up giggles.”

Why We Created Obbi: A Smarter, More Economical, and Sustainable Way to Shower

Hi Obbi family! I want to share a personal story about why I set out to improve something we all do every day: shower.

If you’re busy and time crunched like us, you probably think of your shower routine as a way to simply clean up or possibly even relax to reset after a long day. But have you ever stopped to think about how you shower or what you're using to clean your body? About how what you’re using to scrub impacts your skin, your wallet, and even the environment?

Skin health and saving money on body wash were the pain points that led us to search for a better solution and eventually create Obbi’s soap-dispensing silicone body scrubber. It’s a product we've designed to make your showers better in every way, whether its a better exfoliation, saving money on soap and scrubbing tools, or even improving your impact on the planet. Since our soft launch last month many of you have asked questions similar to, "Why should I make the switch" or "Is my loofah really that bad."

We’ve all used the usual suspects: loofahs, washcloths, and sponges. No shame here, but we have learned in the last several months that these solutions have some serious downsides, which honestly make our skin crawl.

- They’re Bacteria Traps: Did you know loofahs can harbor bacteria and mold after just a few uses? Gross, right? I couldn’t ignore the fact that something I used to clean myself might actually be making things worse. Especially, since several of my showers follow shifts at the hospital.

- They Waste Soap: Do you ever pour a big glob of your favorite body wash onto a loofah and just watch it disappear? It can be frustrating and expensive. Most traditional tools don’t help you control how much soap you’re using. While soap use is probably the most controllable, who doesn't love a good lather? Maybe it's just me but when using conventional scrubbers, I constantly find myself in the squeeze, scrub, rinse, and repeat cycle. Not the best for efficiency or my wallet.

- They’re Not Great for the Planet: Loofahs and sponges are often made of synthetic materials that break down quickly and are not hygienic. Add that many suppliers of these tools recommend monthly disposal and repurchase, forcing you to toss them out regularly. That waste adds up—both in your wallet and our landfills.

Is this really the best we can do?

---

We designed Obbi’s soap-dispensing silicone body scrubber to solve all these problems—and more. Here’s why we think it’s a game-changer:

1. Built-In Soap Dispenser: With Obbi, you only use as much body wash as you need. The built-in soap dispenser is easy to fill and helps you stretch your body wash much further. That means less waste and more savings.

2. Gentle Yet Effective Silicone Bristles: These bristles are soft enough to exfoliate even sensitive skin, but still deliver a satisfying clean. Plus, unlike loofahs, silicone is resistant to bacteria. The nonporous material rinses clean every time, lasting longer and keeping your skin healthier.

3. Eco-Friendly and Long-Lasting: Our scrubbers are made of high-quality silicone designed to last for years, not months. That means fewer replacements, less waste, and a smaller environmental footprint.

4. A Design You’ll Actually Love: Let’s be honest—most shower tools aren’t exactly pretty. Obbi’s fun, ergonomic design feels great in your hand and looks good in your bathroom. Making it a tool that can be used by children and adults alike.

---

At Obbi, we truly believe in the power of simplicity, that Less Is Clean.

Here’s the best part: you don’t have to sacrifice anything. Obbi gives you a better clean while saving you money and helping you live more sustainably. Our soap dispensing scrubbers are made to last, so you won’t need to replace them as often as you do with loofahs or sponges.

Use less soap, replace your shower tools less often, and waste less overall—it all adds up. Small changes can make a big difference, not just for you, but for your wallet and the planet.

If you’re someone who cares about skin health, saving money, and sustainability, Obbi is for you. Give us a try, Because Every Scrub Counts.

Nice to meet you..

While my shower habits persisted and the cost of soap continued to rise, I became motivated to solve this problem. Maybe my desire for long showers wasn’t unique. Maybe other people are looking for a way to add a refreshing, exfoliating, and economical solution to add to their daily personal care routine. Maybe through it all there was a way to have a positive impact on hygiene insecurity.

For most of my professional career, I have had the incredible opportunity to care for people, as a registered nurse. A trademark of this dynamic profession is critical thinking and problem solving. Simply put, our family had a problem. My shower habits. It’s not what you think, I promise. I have a slight affinity for LONG, refreshing, exfoliating showers, which was undoubtedly exacerbated by attempting to maintain vigilant while working through the pandemic. However, efficiency is the name of the game most days with two toddlers.

What if there was a way to get an excellent exfoliation, while saving on body wash and water? This question really started for me in 2016, while I was of course taking a shower. Like most of us when we get a wouldn’t that be cool idea, we tend to leave it at that, as I did for years. There were a couple experiences between 2022-2024 that accelerated my passion to attempt to produce a tangible solution. The first being living in Sarasota County, Florida during Hurricane Ian and the second was enrolling in business school. We were very fortunate to have minimal impact from the storm; however, it gave us a crash course in resource allocation, that we luckily had not experienced to that level at that point in our lives. Underlying this experience was the realization that this was part of millions of individuals daily reality.  As things returned to normal that problem was filed away in the back of my mind.

A year later, I chose to enroll in an MBA program for what was my planned progression up the corporate ladder in healthcare. Increasingly throughout the program, I felt a pull to start something of my own. Maybe we could create consumer products that would help those struggling to afford personal hygiene basics. This led to the founding of Obbi.

Our hope is to provide personal care products that help our friends achieve a cleaner, healthier lifestyle while reducing environmental waste and making a positive impact on hygiene insecurity. We aim to accomplish this with a commitment to creating high-quality products that support personal well-being, community, and sustainability of our environment. While also making a commitment to partner with organizations dedicated to decreasing hygiene insecurity. Thank you for taking the time to listen, and we hope you will join us on this journey.
